Expert travel writer:

About

Mandy started out by chronicling her move to Morocco on a blog she called Why Morocco. In 2018, she transitioned her blog into Morocco’s first travel podcast – Why Morocco, conversations with the inspiring and creative personalities met while living in Morocco.

She now works as a freelance writer. In recent years, she’s written for Lonely Planet, Brownbook, Sunday Times Travel Magazine, The Independent and The Culture Trip on Morocco, notably travel, architecture, shopping, and food.

She now lives between Marrakech, Morocco and spends summers in Goderich, Canada.

Background

Mandy’s love of Morocco developed during an 18-day holiday to Morocco in 2010. By day four, she had decided she would move to Morocco, initially thinking it would be a five-month stint to learn French. The culture, music, art, history, food, and people captured her heart and she ended up staying for a decade, travelling extensively and contributing to various print and digital publications.

She eventually blended her love of food and culture to create her own company (Tasting Marrakech), specialising in bespoke food tours.

On the bucket list

To eat my way through Mexico City’s street food scene, to soak up Havana’s architecture on foot, and admire the Big Five on a South African safari.
