Recommended place to stay:

St Regis San Francisco

Last updated: 19 January, 2023

The St Regis forgoes quiet luxury for in-your-face opulence, from the 260 rooms with 24-hour butler service, to the impressive art collection, Michelin-starred restaurant, and spa that hands out truffles and glasses of bubbly to waiting patrons.

Rooms go high-tech with their bathroom TVs, printer-fax-copier combos, and bedside panels that control the lights, music and shades. Even the setting – a glass-and-steel tower in SoMa, adjacent to SFMoMA – seems to gleam in the face of neighbours.

The best of the top-end luxury hotels in San Francisco.

Surrounding area

If art and culture are your things, you can’t do better than the St Regis’ location – it’s adjacent to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of the African Diaspora, and a few blocks from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Daniel Libeskind-designed Contemporary Jewish Museum.

SoMa is a bustling business district, but with great dining options all around, and plenty of easy-access transportation to shuttle you around the city.
