Recommended place to stay:

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Last updated: 31 July, 2023

This seven-story, chateau-style hotel takes centre stage in Beaver Creek village, just a ski pole’s throw from the slopes. Lavish and spacious, some of the suites feel truly palatial, boasting oversized furniture, lush fabrics, grand fireplaces and gleaming marble bathrooms. Alpine views through vast windows complete the package.

For guests who can peel themselves away from their bedrooms, the award-winning luxury spa is popular for its Aqua Sanitas Roman baths experience – a series of soaks, steams, and saunas. Hearty dinners and local craft beers are served in the open-kitchen restaurant, 8100 Mountainside.

About the resort

While the exclusive resort of Beaver Creek is just as posh and polished as its neighbour Vail, it’s much less known and as a result, quieter. There is a smart traffic-free village centre (complete with heated pavements).

Its ski area is on the small side, at 1,832 acres, but it is packed with excellent, varied skiing, from superb beginner trails to gung-ho mogul runs. Beaver Creek is also home to the only regularly used World Cup downhill course in North America, the notorious Birds of Prey.
