Hostal Gala

Last updated: 04 January, 2024

Madrid’s Hostal Gala provides exactly what many modern, urban travellers are looking for – well-designed, no-frills accommodation in a central location, at a reasonable price.

It’s situated on the second floor of a 19th-century building, a 10-minute walk from Plaza Mayor and main avenue Gran Via.

The hostal’s 22 rooms have a chic black-and-white colour scheme, modern throws and furniture, small bathrooms and free wi-fi.

There’s no restaurant or breakfast room, but lovely cafés, restaurants and bars are right on your doorstep.

It’s the city’s best budget choice – and ideally positioned for sightseeing.

Surrounding area

The Gala is located on a busy square in downtown Madrid, with inevitable traffic and street noise. It’s just off the Gran Vía (the city’s main commercial and entertainment artery) and is slap bang in the middle of the action – close to shops, bars, nightclubs and restaurants.
