Travel bucket list idea:
ABBA Voyage
London, United Kingdom (UK)

If you like an ABBA song – and let’s be honest, who doesn’t? – this visual spectacular is a must. It’s just like going to a real ABBA concert. It’s virtually impossible to tell the avatars from real human beings – though it feels strange at first, clapping and cheering a computer graphic.
The 90-minute show delivers hit after hit that will have you dancing and singing along, accompanied by gasp-worthy sets and lighting displays. It boggles the mind that this music was written 50 years ago yet still enchants and delights all ages and generations.
The only slight disappointment is a few unknown songs in the middle that kill the building atmosphere, and the absence from the playlist of Super Trouper and Take a Chance on Me – two of their greatest party hits that would have brought the house down.
But this is being picky. It’s an unrivalled feel-good night out worth every penny of the entrance ticket, and a stunning creation that remarkably will allow generations to come the opportunity to enjoy the music and experience charisma of this incomparable super group for decades, if not centuries, to come.
Logistics
Getting there & doing it
The ABBA Arena is located next to Puddling Mill Lane station on the DLR.
Get tickets directly from the website. There isn’t really a bad view – even from the cheaper seats/dance cllor – but if you want to dance (and likely you will), opt for the dancefloor or a dance booth. The tiered seating stands have great views but if you get up and dance, you’ll block the view of the person behind.
Some people dress in classic ABBA attire – so if that’s your dream, don’t hold back, you won’t be the only one.
There’s food and drink there – of the extremely fast and unhealthy variety – so better to eat before you arrive.
