A total revamp of a jaded old property, this Design Hotel opened with a bang in 2019. Even the smallest rooms are spacious and sunny, though the pale, stripped-back interiors feel slightly soulless. It’s the common areas where this hotel really shines: a huge, sexy pool with a proper bar, a modern Mediterranean restaurant, a small gym and spa, and a brilliantly curated Anthologist gift shop.

Operated by the Empiria Group, who also own Cosme on Paros and several leading hotels on Santorini, the service is on point and the concierge is knowledgeable.

At first, the location might seem a little scrappy, but it’s handily placed between the coves of Kolymbithres and the bars and restaurants of Naoussa (both a 10-minute drive away). The swampy beach across the road is unappealing, but most guests barely stray from the cross-shaped pool during the day.
