Part of the extraordinary Madinat Jumeirah complex, this sumptuous hotel plays heavily on the Arabian theme – musicians play soothing classical Arabic music, rose petals float in a tile-filled fountain – but the effect is enchanting.

The views from the balconies of the building’s grand exterior, modelled on old Arabian cities, are stunning at night. Lavish rooms are strewn with lanterns and arabesque patterns, and the choice of surrounding bars, restaurants and spa and beach facilities is staggering.

There’s a new family swimming pool built into the beach so you can easily jump from sea to pool and vice versa. Guests also get free access to the Wild Wadi water park next door.

Surrounding area

Mina A’Salam is part of the extraordinary Madinat Jumeirah complex, comprising four luxury hotels along Dubai’s most beautiful stretch of beach, anchored at one end by the spectacular Burj Al Arab.

It’s a fairytale Arabian world, heavily themed but enchanting nonetheless, with manicured gardens, wandering peacocks and man-made waterways plied by wooden abras.

The Wild Wadi waterpark is next door, and everywhere the views are dominated by the iconic sail-shaped Burj Al Arab. Some of Dubai’s best shopping, restaurants and bars are adjacent at Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
