The ultimate rustic-chic hotel. Nine centuries-old wooden chalets and mazots (outbuildings) were transported from areas of the Savoie and reassembled, beam by beam, into a luxury hotel, just a five-minute walk from Megève’s medieval village centre.

All of the rooms are individually designed and super-cosy, with furry bed throws and plump cushions, and the huge spa boasts two pools – one for children, one for adults.

Ben, the hotel’s charismatic concierge since the hotel’s inception (1989), is on hand to cater to guests’ every whim; ask him to book a table at Traditionnel, one of the hotel’s two restaurants, for the gourmet dinner night where beef ribs and local game are cooked over the huge open fire.

About Megeve

Megeve’s car-free centre is as charming as they get – all cobbled streets lined with chic shops and sophisticated bars and restaurants.

The ski area is massive, and accessible to all abilities, with much of the terrain below the tree line – great for low-visibility days. On a powder day there is little competition for fresh tracks, meaning powder stashes can be found several days after a snowfall.
