Following a £33 million renovation, this iconic hotel (featured in Sorrentino’s 2015 film Youth) has been restored to its former Belle Epoque glory. Rooms are plush and spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing mountain views.
The property’s centrepiece is the state-of-the-art spa, with its indoor pool housed inside a glass cube, showcasing 360-degree panoramic views. The four on-site restaurants, take guests on a gastronomic journey through the Alps, Italy, Lebanon and Thailand.
Flims and neighbouring Laax (and smaller Falera) share one of Switzerland’s largest, and most snowsure, ski areas. Considered Europe’s leading freestyle ski resort, its terrain parks are world class – but for skiers who prefer to keep their skis (or snowboard) firmly on the ground, there is plenty of excellent piste skiing to be had to suit all levels.
Flims has a traditional village-y feel at the foot of the slopes.
