Ivy covers this friendly, family-run boutique hotel in the centre of Saint-Tropez, near the charming Place des Lices – where centuries-old plane trees watch over the morning market, and games of boules take place in the afternoon.

It’s an oasis of calm in the Cote d’Azur’s busy summer season, as you can retreat to calm bedrooms in shades of taupe and white, many overlooking the shimmering emerald pool and laid-back bar.

Casual, friendly and endowed with secure parking (a big plus if you’re road-tripping), this hotel’s plant-covered living walls and outdoor space make it feel like a retreat while still basing you in town.

If you’re staying for a while, the owners also offer some of Saint-Tropez’s more affordable self-catering apartments and villas.
