Best places to stay:
Hotel Winter 3
Housed in an iconic building dating from 1864, this is the oldest and largest five-star hotel in St Moritz. Many original features remain, including the beautiful frescoed ceiling and porcelain fireplace in the Enoteca restaurant. The two Michelin-starred Cà d’Oro, which serves creative Mediterranean cuisine, feels just as opulent with its crystal chandeliers.
After skiing, guests retreat to the ginormous spa, which boasts a marble column-flanked indoor pool, as well as various saunas and Kneipp baths. The hotel is situated in St. Moritz-Bad, set back from the edge of Lake St. Moritz – for a glimpse, request a top-floor room.
Glitzy, fashionable and exclusive – St Moritz is the place to see and be seen. But people don’t just come here to prance around in their Prada ski suits – the resort attracts serious skiers, too.
There are three main skiing areas; north-facing Corvatsch boasts the best snow and some thrilling pistes. Airtime enthusiasts will enjoy the snowpark at Corviglia, regarded as one of the best in Switzerland.
