A multi-million-pound redesign courtesy of a cutting-edge Parisian architecture firm has transformed this tropical resort of low-rise, thatched-roof buildings into something stylistically quite daring.

It’s an opulent property, with 278 units spread across 37 acres of tropical gardens hugging the lagoon on the east side of Mauritius. There are two championship golf courses, but it may be hard to tear yourself away from the mile-long white-sand beach and glittering lagoon.

Time a round on the Links course to finish at sunset, and settle in at Le Swing bar for sundowners and spectacular views.
