Bucket list experience:

Sculpted, colourful fish fountains with the Ocean Park building in the background and a blue sky above
Last updated: 06 May, 2022
Expert travel writer: Lee Cobaj

Disneyland Hong Kong may have the international clout, but Ocean Park is the local hero and punches well above its weight.

Spreading across 170 acres of hillside, it promises cute pandas, performing sea lions, panoramic cable-car rides, a gigantic aquarium, seaside rollercoasters and a rapids raft river ride – and that’s before you’ve summoned up the nerve to have a go on the 185ft abyss turbo drop. Your screams will echo around the whole harbour…

Getting there & doing it

Dedicated Ocean Park buses run from Admiralty bus station. You can buy joint bus and admission tickets. The journey takes about 30 minutes.

Tickets can be bought at the park entrance, online via the park website, or at any 7-Eleven store in Hong Kong.

It’s mainly fast-food outlets on site, and they’re by no means cheap. Pack plenty of drinking water and snacks. Neptune’s Restaurant gives a full-on view of the Grand Aquarium with your food.

When to do it

The Park is open all year round, seven days a week.
