For fans of hot-air ballooning, floating over the dramatic, arid landscapes and traditional Berber villages surrounding Marrakech just might become the most memorable experience of your stay: the views stretch mile upon mile, with the High Atlas Mountains strung out on the horizon.
Morning hot-air balloon rides are often followed by a traditional meal in a Berber village.

Operators will collect guests from their hotels, drive them out to their launching sites, usually some 45 minutes from Marrakech, then return them to their hotels at the end of the trip.
Check in advance about flying conditions and bear in mind that flights may be cancelled at the last minute. It gets surprisingly cold in the wee hours of the morning in Marrakech, even during hot months, so take warm clothing. All operators provide breakfast as part of the package.
There’s no minimum age as such, but it’s not much fun for those who cannot see over the basket. Children under 10 usually go half price.
First-time balloon-trippers are often disappointed by cramped baskets, burner noise and heat, and undignified landings. Form realistic expectations and you’ll love it. Or opt for a VIP package with Champagne and exclusive use of the basket.
Flights take place year-round, though are entirely dependent on weather conditions. Take off is at dawn.
October to June see the best flying conditions and are the least likely months to see cancellations
