Recommended place to stay:

Waldorf Astoria Park City

Last updated: 23 July, 2023

For skiers who prioritise slope access above all else, the Waldorf Astoria comes up trumps. It has its own gondola just steps from the front door, whisking guests up to Canyons Village base area in minutes (a dedicated ski valet places guests’ equipment at the gondola each morning).

There is a beautiful heated outdoor pool, with mountain views, and a spa with an extensive treatment menu.

Esteemed Austria chef Hermann Schaefer is in charge of the food, which guests can enjoy in the classy restaurant, Powder, or in the privacy of their room/suite with the hotel’s in-room dining option.

About the resort

Having linked with neighbouring Canyons Resort in 2015-16, Park City is now a behemoth of a ski area, sprawling across 7,300 acres – the biggest in the USA. The variety is outstanding: ego-boosting intermediate trails, beginner-friendly greens, hair-raising steeps, and a world-class snowpark. There are more trails next door in Deer Valley, too.

Park City has a reputation for its excellent restaurants, far superior than in your average North American ski resort.
